The Lamborghini Urus has helped redefine performance crossovers and now the company is going even further with the new Urus Performante.
Designed to take “the ultimate performance and distinctive look of Lamborghini’s groundbreaking Super SUV to the next level,” the Urus Performante features an aggressive front bumper and vented carbon bonnet. The latter is available fully painted or in visible carbon fiber for a touch of character.
Speaking of lightweight material, customers can order a carbon fiber roof that “echoes” the Huracán Performante and the Super Trofeo. Elsewhere there is a carbon front splitter and black inlets for an aggressive look as well as better engine cooling. Designers also equipped the model with new air curtains, carbon fiber wheel arches and a larger spoiler that helps increase downforce on the rear of the vehicle by 38%.

Staying at the rear, the crossover got a carbon diffuser and a carbon rear bumper. They are joined by a titanium Akrapovič sports exhaust system which produces a “distinctive Lamborghini resonance”.
For a sportier stance, the Urus Performante rides on new steel springs that lower the model by 20mm. The track is also increased by 16 mm, while the crossover runs on 22- or 23-inch lightweight wheels with titanium bolts and specially developed Pirelli P Zero tires.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as the model comes standard with black Alcantara seats with hexagonal accents. Buyers will also find a black anodized aluminum finish and a sports steering wheel in leather and Alcantara, flattened at the bottom.
Lamborghini will offer many options, including the Dark Package, in which various controls and switches are coated in matte black. Customers can also opt for leather as well as Ad Personam options such as a matte carbon fiber finish and red door handles.
Considering this Urus carries the moniker Performante, it’s no surprise that the crossover has lost weight and gained power. As of the latter, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine was tuned to produce 657 hp (490 kW / 666 hp) and 627 Nm (850 Nm) of torque. This is an increase of 16 hp (12 kW / 16 hp) and allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 190 mph (306 km / h). ).
The improved performance is due in part to “the most carbon fiber parts in its segment.” They help to reduce the weight of the crossover by 47 kg, which gives the model the best power-to-weight ratio in its class.
Improved performance and reduced weight are only part of the story as the Urus Performante features a recalibrated steering system that promises more “precise inputs and direct feedback”. The model also has a new differential for optimized torque distribution, as well as upgraded driving modes.
Regarding the latter, there is a new Rally setup that takes “the sportiness of the Super SUV to an exciting new level on gravel tracks.” As Lamborghini explained, oversteer is enhanced by anti-roll and damping systems optimized for steel springs on uneven surfaces.
Thanks to all these updates, the Urus Performante has already proven itself as a model that set a new record at Pikes Peak with a time of 10: 32.064. This broke the previous SUV record of 10: 49,902.
