Of all Amazon’s home tech, the Fire TV line of devices is quite compelling when paired with major competitors like Google TV and Roku. But is it enough to bring all Amazon’s ass? TV in your home?
At today’s Amazon event announced Two additional ways to bring your Fire TV home: 3rd Generation Fire TV Cube and 2nd Generation QLED Omni TV with Fire TV Built-in. The company is also releasing an update that will make Show 15 devices a bit more useful at home – that is, if you’re a binge observer. There’s also the new Alexa voice-controlled remote.
Lets start with Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED series. It is available in 65-inch for $ 800 or 75-inch for $ 1,100. It is the successor to last year’s Fire TV Omni, although it offers higher pixel density and a wider color gamut because it uses Quantum Dot technology. Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10 + Adaptive. It will be able to adapt to the lighting … and tell you when you are in front of it, which is quite characteristic of Amazon.
Fire TV Omni QLED presents content in a maximum resolution of 4K at 60 frames per second (fps). When you’re not watching anything, the TV serves as a high-definition photo frame with Fire TV Ambient Experience. You can also use Alexa widgets like on different Echo Show devices.
This is the highest offering on Amazon’s current TV offering. You can still choose from last year’s Fire TV Omni series for $ 330 or the Fire TV 4 series for $ 300. All three TVs offer resolutions up to 4K Ultra High Definition, but only the Omni QLED offers the Fire TV Ambient Experience and Adaptive Brightness.
Next-generation Fire TV cube
If you’d rather not replace your entire TV, Fire TV Cube is Amazon’s third generation streaming device. The Cube has been updated with an improved octa-core processor and Super Resolution scaling, so you can watch HD content in a sharpness similar to 4K. Amazon also promises better audio quality with the Fire TV Cube, thanks in part to Dolby Atmos audio support and Wi-Fi 6e support.
If you want the device to act as a centralized entertainment center in your main room, the good news is that the device has built-in USB, Ethernet, and HDMI ports. Amazon says you can also use the USB port to add a compatible webcam if you want to use a Fire TV Cube connected to a video chat display via Alexa.
The Fire TV Cube is available for $ 140 and will ship on October 25.
TV update for the Echo Show 15
When I checked 250 Echo Show 15 Earlier this year, I was depressed that there are no more TV-like options. However, a software update soon available will make the Smart Display look more like a Fire TV.
Echo Show 15 will receive update this will add the Fire TV app to your interface so you can stream TV, movies, news, and anything else you want. The Echo Show 15 can currently support Prime Video, Netflix, and Hulu. But this ability will turn it into the 15-inch TV it was meant to be. Amazon said the update will bring favorites like Paramount Plus and Disney + to the smart display.
The pilot who will unite them all
All the Fire TV devices listed here, as well as the Echo Show 15, will also be compatible with the updated one Alexa Voice Remote Pro. The remote has a backlight, programmable buttons and a Remote Finder feature, which is exciting since it’s the Year of the Lord 2022, and I keep losing my remote in the couch cushions like it was in 1992. The more things change, the more you become as you are. The remote is now available for pre-order for $ 35.
